Manitoba Land Transfer Tax: What’s Changing and What You Need to Know

Major changes to Manitoba’s land transfer tax regime are coming. Learn how the new rules may affect real estate and corporate transactions and what organizations should consider before they take effect.

Tuesday, November 17, 2026 in Winnipeg

Beginning January 1, 2027, Manitoba’s land transfer tax will apply to certain

acquisitions and increases in beneficial interests in land, including some

These changes may have significant implications for real estate transactions,

Join MLT Aikins taxation lawyers for a practical discussion of the expanded regime.

You will learn what is changing, how the new rules may apply and what planning

considerations should be addressed for upcoming transactions involving land in Manitoba.
